Update: It’s been around 8 months since we started using this car. Yesterday, 3 motors started smoking and one went up in flames. My nephew was just cruising around the backyard, when I realized there was electrical smoke in the air. I always stay close when he’s riding. I immediately yanked him off the car out of precaution and then realized the front driver’s motor was on fire. 2 others were also smoking. It was a pretty tough little car up until it did that. I was actually pleasantly surprised with it up to that point, even with the easily repairable issues we had prior (starter switch quit and batteries needed replacement). My husband is an aircraft electrician. He said the motors are way underrated for what they’re being used for. He said they’re the same motors used on RC cars, not meant for the torque this car needs to operate. He was shocked they lasted as long as they did. It’s probably because my nephew didn’t ride it regularly like his other vehicle, his baby tractor (what he calls it). I think he likes it better because it will spin tires. He has a peg perego ground force tractor that my older nephew passed down to him. My older nephew got it when he was 3, back in 2013. Now that thing is tough. He’s been driving it regularly for the same 8 month period he’s had this car. He drives it like he stole it. He finally, literally, drove the wheels off of it. If those tractors are still made like that ones made back then, I would definitely suggest buying one of those. I just bought another one to replace his old one to find out. He had nothing to ride. Both broke about the same time. The old tractor has an excuse, it’s 13 years old. This car does not. I would say though, that the customer service from the company that makes this car is awesome, some of the best customer service I’ve ever dealt with. I wish their car was just as good. They would have an awesome product. I think if they used better electrical components, they would have a winner. The body and mechanical parts are well built. It just flops because of battery and motor issues. Original: We got our first car and the body of the car was broken. Amazon sent replacement quickly. My nephew loves this car! Good battery life. Goes off-road better than others with the slick plastic tires. The slow start is also helpful. The Bluetooth radio is a nice addition. I did have an issue with the start button not working correctly, but palby’s customer service is awesome! They went above and beyond to make things right. Do not hesitate to buy this car! Absolutely awesome!
