Santa brought this thing for Xmas 2024, and so far it has been a great machine. Its high speed is fast enough to be fun and engaging for our 9 & 7 year olds, and the fact that the brakes engage when you let off the accelerator make for a lot of fun “drifting” in the school parking lot where we let them ride it. Battery life is okay – maybe 20-30 minutes of driving time before it needs a charge. Enough time to keep it fun. The overall build is pretty sturdy – the kid is surrounded by a metal cage up to about their stomach, but no “roll bar” across the top. But this thing isn’t meant to be taken offroad very much in the first place. The weight is distributed very low to the ground and toward the back of the machine where the battery is, so it is overall very sturdy-feeling when the kid is driving it — as long as they stay on relatively level ground. A few criticisms: There is only a lap belt, which is just a plastic locking clasp — sort of a bigger version of a backpack strap. Other models have shoulder harnesses, which I wish this thing had. Also the clasp is hard for my 7yo to get on and off because it’s very stiff. The steering mechanism on the front is a little loosey-goosey, and it hangs down really low on the front, so you only have a couple inches of ground clearance on the front. That effectively limits this machine to paved flat surfaces. If you have those, then great, but don’t expect it to jump over curbs or go offroad very much. The tires are also “racing slicks,” so you aren’t going to have much grip in the grass anyway. The criticisms shouldn’t be a deal breaker, as this is a fun little machine for kids with some real pick-me-up, you just need the right place to drive it and enjoy the ability to “drift.”
The battery went dead within 5 times of using it. Defective item. No longer works. Battery doesnÖÉ hold charge. Have only used 5 times and now it doesnÖÉ work. Can you send replacement that works?
I bought two of these for my 8 year old twins. It was easy to put together, great speed for this age group and stays charged longer than I would have expected. Would definitely recommend for anyone whose kids have a need for racing to make them feel like they are able to be an actual race car driver. It³Õ been 6 months since Christmas and this is definitely still one of her most actively used gives. Oh and these are not heavy easy for this mom to move around.
